My name is Rosie and I am young, energetic, spirited Norfolk terrier mix. I am leery of people in the beginning and very shy and apprehensive. Once I feel safe, I blossom and want to be your Velcro friend. I am very fast and run like crazy in the yard. I MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD to stay safe because with my initial shyness I might get scared if taken out for walks. My foster Mom says I might need a moat filled with crocodiles because I can slip through the door so fast I can be gone in a flash. I really don’t want to run away, but the terrier part of me just wants to go through the opening because I can. It is just a game to me but my Mom says it can be dangerous so a fenced in yard will keep me safe. I am about 10lbs and while I am little, I let you know I am around! Being a terrier, that is part of my nature to have a voice and let you know I am here to protect my yard and family. I really don’t know if I could protect them but I sound like I can! I like playing with the other little dogs in the house and like the cat, too. But I might just like to have a home of my own if my family can keep me busy and out of trouble. My Mom would like my family to have terrier experience so they can guide me and let me feel safe and know you can be in charge. I sometimes get in trouble when you aren’t looking. I am really good and climbing up on the chair to get to the food on the table when you walk away. I promise you I can eat in before you know it! I do have a charming little spin my Mom calls the Rosie dance. It will charm the pants off you especially if I got in trouble! I need to have stimulation and lots of exercise because I am very high energy.. My Mom thinks I would do well in Agility Classes since I do like to climb everything in the house. I need a family that realizes they can’t leave the door open even a smidge or I will escape. I need a family that knows I might misbehave and will work with me. I especially need a family who will love my crazy antics and know that I am always trying to get 3 steps ahead of you so you have to be 6 steps ahead of me. Rosie is crate trained and house-trained. But like any new situation, there is always a learning curve in a new environment. Rosie’s adoption donation covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip, dental, fecal and heartworm check.
